Today I am grateful for:
-these quotes:
"Laughing in full abandonment is very good for your health. "
"Letting go of the past means that can you enjoy the dream that is happening right now."
-being able to get a good night's sleep. I had dreams and everything. It was pretty glorious.
-a really fun day at the museum. The kids were all at that great age and there were a lot of them. Not to mention it was just one other co-worker and myself we watched Clue between shows and then put in a lot of fun bits into the show we did together. It was really delightful.
-my friend Hannah opened her own gym today! So cool. I've been very grateful for Hannah recently. She has invited me out to late night drinks and sushi, to BBQ, and Trivia* to name a few. Putting myself out there is definitely a challenge so I'm always grateful when people help me out of my shell. She is also someone that gets what she wants done. When she puts her mind to it, there's no stopping her. She is an impressive person and I'm constantly being inspired by her.
-seeing Sister Act the musical! It was super silly and fun. Made me really want to watch the original movie. In fact, looking it up right now!
-hanging out with Tom and Anna. We have an ongoing date to watch Bates Motel. It's kind of meh sometimes, but it grew on me. Plus Anna told me tonight that I get a pass to come over whenever. Tom and Anna have to ask one another if it's okay to invite people over before they give the go ahead, but apparently no asking is required for me. That's kind of nice. :)
-recognizing a moment of shame. I was called out for scratching my scar on my hand. It's something I do unconsciously so when I'm called out on it in public I feel shame. However, I was able to take a minute, realize that it wasn't a big deal, take some deep breathes, and move forward. Sounds trivial, but it's the little things that can sometimes accumulate to something bigger. Better to recognize, lean in, and process it in the moment rather than to push it down and get upset for the rest of the night. If the surroundings allow for it.
-the giggles that naming inanimate objects give me. :)
-this incredible video. I watch it every June. Or should I say JOOOOOAN!
-laughter
-the basics
-as always, my friends
*I've really been enjoying trivia! It's a great group of people and I feel like I've been able to contribute more and more. :)
